Best Shots of Our Local Spots: Austin, Texas
When I first moved to "The Live Music Capital of the World," the difficulty wasn't in my search for the hottest spots- in fact, the whole challenge was just figuring out where to begin (thanks, DO512). There is an endless assortment of restaurants, bars, shops, boutiques, and aesthetically pleasing locations offered throughout the city, and it sure does take time to experience them all. Even though I am approaching my one #yearaversary in my tiny but cozy apartment here in Austin, my bucket list remains heavy. Therefore, my best girlfriends and I decided to go on a day-long tour de Austin with a Nikon in hand. Besides, what is a daily outing without a photograph for tonight's Instagram post to confirm today's activities? Get a glimpse of a few of my favorite hidden gems tucked away in the ATX- locals only.
Best Local Dining: Lucky Robot Japanese Kitchen and Sushi Bar
Amongst the many eateries offered on the famous South Congress Avenue (which is what us locals refer to as "SoCo"), Lucky Robot is the perfect place for an abundant selection of sushi rolls & sashimi. 10/10 would recommend pairing an entrée with some hot sake to unwind after a long day at the office... or after a very demanding play day.
2. Best Place to Grab a Drink: Spider House Cafe & Ballroom
Whether you're looking to grab a craft beer with a friend during the weekly poetry slam or relax with a post-brunch Irish coffee, Spider House is the best laid back local hangout to do so. Check out their schedule & plan to make it out to a show or one of the other various events Spider House has to offer- with a delicious cocktail in hand, of course.
3. Best Label: Kendra Scott
Although this globally renowned jewelry designer has successfully opened stores across the U.S., Kendra Scott's design studio headquarters remains in the very city where she "turned $500 into millions." We visited her South Congress location & had some fun at the custom color bar.
4. Best Instagram Backdrop: Castle Hill
Where you can either unleash your inner graffiti artist, or take killer snapshots. We turned this visit into a mini photo shoot.
